I was transferring some pictures from our camera to the computer today and realized that our little buddy has changed so much. Crazy! I couldn't believe how much our buddy has grown in the last six weeks or so since we've been back. Don't worry, I'll quite babbling soon enough and post the pictures to prove it. He is four months old and growing like the weeds that have spontaneously taken up residency in our yard. He had an appointment last week and did great with his injections. He was 18# and 26". 92nd and 69th percentiles...and don't worry, I'm not bragging about that, I just included it so I can remember it some day.
I've just been busy trying to get us all settled into place and getting our home up to speed. Thankfully, we had really responsible tenants and our home is in pretty good shape. I am attending to the things that get overlooked by tenants. I guess that is the difference between ownership and rentor-ship (yes, I'm making up words). Ownership pushes one to further limits and instills a certain sense of pride. Case in point, our yards are in some serious need of TLC and pruning. We're just happy they're still green for the most part, and it feels good to turn these rusty thumbs green again. Some detailed cleaning is also in order...but who has the energy for that? I love to do that kind of stuff, it's just hard to find the motivation when you've got a cute little specimen to occupy your attention instead.
Enough of the hot air! Let the picture diary commence!

This is shortly after we moved here and our boy it just getting used to the johnny jumper. He's gonna love this in the months to come. Thanks to Aunt Rebecca for letting us borrow it!

We started our day of work in the yard enlisting McRae's help. But after a few minutes, he felt like kick'n back else where. I love how he's worked his hat over to demonstrate what relaxing is supposed to look like.

And after a hard day of work, who doesn't want to catch a few Zzzzzs? Moments before this shot, he was "helping" us tame the wild grass of our lawn. Who needs a lawnmower? This kid was pulling it and eating it just as fast. At least until he started choking on it. Then, he was promptly relocated.

And this just demonstrates one of his newest and fondest sources of entertainment.
Oh! And while we're discussing his latest tricks, we've discovered that he can roll his tongue. This talent is supposed to be genetically linked. Any family members out there that can do this? Because Brian and I can't!

Janette - he is ADORABLE. And I'm not just saying that because you are supposed to say that when people put up pictures of their kids on blogs. He truly is a cutie! And we are very glad to have you back in the ward :)
OH, he is SWEET! Wish I could give him a good SQUISH!
Quite the handsome little man, there, cousin! Thanks for sharing those pictures and experiences with us. It's great to see how he's growing!
As for the tongue thing...by rolling you mean making it into kind of a tube, right?
This Mayberry cousin can do it. :)
P.S. I think Candace just made a threat against your child. Heh heh.
Brent,
Clarifying tongue rolling. What you described sounds like the "taco" tongue...where both sides roll towards the middle. I can do that too, but the tongue rolling I was talking about is where he actually flips one side over to the other side. The tongue ends up inverted. It's kind of hard to explain. Does that make sense? At any rate, it's just funny to see such a little guy doing it.
BOUT TIME!! SHEESH! That other post was up WAY to long:) It's fun to see how he's growing....We don't get to see him enough. When are you coming up again?
Oh, and I can definitely roll my tongue
He IS so super handsome! Wow time really does fly. Before you know it he'll be off to Kindergarten! Eat it all up while you can now!
Oh & Me me me!... I can flip my tongue all the way over just how you explained. How funny that he can do that so young!
He is so cute! I need a boy. Sounds like fun commuting together and hanging out with your parents. Way to make the best out of an ironic situation.
Boy oh boy do I have pretty darn cute little buddies! Been waitin' and waitin' for another update. Looking forward to the next hug-a-bum. Hugs!! ~Nana
Hey Janette. It's Jen Seamons. I found your blog on Gretchen's. It's so fun to find people you haven't seen in forever on other people's blogs. Looks like you and your cute little family are doing well. I have enjoyed scrolling through your entries. You're still so funny.
Glad your getting back into life in Tucson ok. Your little guy is a cute one...future heartbreaker. Thanks for the update. Keep em comin'!
Oh man! I would have loved to have seen you too at the baptism. I was at a photo workshop and was bmmed to miss the baptism, now I am even more since I could have seen you!
Janette - He is so cute....and big!!! So you're finally back in Tucson? Maybe we can actually get together sometime and hang out. My Brian is still gone often because of school and work, so I am at home alone. I would love to get together sometime. Let me know your schedule....I work Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hope to see you soon.
Beautiful pictures...
Thanks for sharing ...
