When we learned that the summer vacation we had reserved and paid for back in 2010 might fall through the cracks, we were really bummed. We had been looking forward to going to Aspen Grove with all of Brian's extended family and sharing some fun times together. But, it didn't end up working out for everybody and we were left with trying to decide whether or not to cancel ourselves. We decided we'd check to see if we could change our reservation to another week and try and convince some of my family to join us. Thankfully, we were able to accomplish both! We moved our date back to July and the Wrights were able to join us. We had such a fun-filled vacation and made so many great friends and memories that we have decided it is a "must-do" vacation for our family again in the future. I mean, how do you beat free child-care and no cooking or cleaning for a whole week? Well, you just add hiking in the beautiful Utah mountains, arts and crafts, swimming, all sorts of sports and family activities, a high-ropes course, and some lectures on parenting and marriage. Seriously...all that stuff! Yep...it's true. It was a steal of a vacation and we highly recommend it. We'll definitely be trying to convince my family to do a family reunion there in future years.
We split the trip into two days. Panguitch was our halfway point. Love that town. McRae loved that this cowboy had a whip. He thought for sure this was "Cowboy Jim" from Man From Snowy River. Just realized this is the only pic we got of John the whole trip. BOO! The boys were GREAT travelers and a road trip in the new van was money! So nice!

These bears were a big hit...clearly.

Catching up on some ZZzzz's by the peaceful creek.

Frontier night games with family.
What?!?! A game where I can swing a whip?!?! So excited!
Getting ready for the high ropes course.
One thing I don't want to forget is our first night there, they had a welcoming assembly. There was lots of cheering and excitement as each of the different age groups took the stage and introduced their group cheers. McRae didn't quite know what was going on, but he knew he should be excited. When he saw the next group run on stage, he quickly followed, got on stage and pumped his fists in the air like he belonged. Then he stayed on stage when that group left and waited for the next group to join him. Quite a funny sight! He totally gets that from the Skinner side! (insert thickest sarcasm possible) :)
